Monitise has been chosen by Visa to be a strategic development partner for the company's comprehensive suite of mobile money services, including payments, mobile money transfer, mobile transaction alerts and mobile marketing offers.

This supports Visa’s mobile strategy of extending the reach of its global network to the more than 4 billion mobile devices around the world.

Monitise and Visa have a 50/50 Joint Venture to develop mobile financial services in India.

The joint venture will give providers of financial services in India a platform to accelerate the delivery of mobile financial services such as banking, bill payments, ticketing services, mobile top-up and others to consumers. The first services are planned for launch in the second half of 2010.
