Scope of Position

Monitise, the mobile money experts, have created one of the most extensive and successful mobile banking and payments services in the world. It is a publicly listed business with in excess of 1m registered end users, a market capitalization of circa £100m and aggressive plans for further growth. Monitise has an extremely strong and supportive shareholder base that includes Visa, UBS, SCB and First Eastern.

Now in its sixth year of operation, Monitise has live mobile banking operations in both the UK and the US; with further business developments being progressed across other regions (India, Africa and Asia Pacific).

Monitise has a Global Alliance Agreement in place with Visa, where Monitise has been contracted to act as their principle partner to ‘mobilize' Visa's services. Work is also progressing to expand into the retail environment through the foundation of the Mobile Money Network with Carphone Warehouse Plc and Travelex.

We are now looking for a Source Control Manager to work alongside a senior-partner handling requirements for a rapidly growing (currently 25-man) engineering team. The role manages a regional section of the source repository for a large multi-region mobile banking application.

The division is responsible for the realisation of new services and enhancements of the platform.

The role will be responsible for the management and implementation of source repository processes and policies as well as the execution of on demand requirements handling.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Although the scope and focus of the day to day activities within the role will change depending on business requirements, the following should be considered the core accountable activities:

Requirements handling

• Implementation and policing of source management policies and processes.
• Day to day management of source repository, working with project plans for the scheduling and execution of:
• o Branch management
• o Development team coordination
• o Code merging

Service improvements

• Ongoing analysis and suggested improvements of current source repository process/policy/tools.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

Candidates will be educated to at least degree level or have equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Experience

Essential

• Experience managing source code repositories for large Java projects: Code merging & Branch management
• Experience of CVS
• Java development experience
• Source code management experience

Desirable

• Experience of working within a financial services or mobile environment
